The balantia app can be connected with Health Connect so that it automatically receives activity data (steps) from other apps and wearables (e.g. Google Fit, Samsung Health, Fitbit, Garmin).
Important info about Health ConnectUsually, Health Connect is pre-installed on most Android devices. If it’s not installed on your device, balantia will let you know and ask you to download it.
The balantia app doesn’t count steps itself; it just reads the step data that has already been recorded in Health Connect by third-party apps and devices.
On newer Android devices, Health Connect works as a system service and you can find it in your device Settings.
How do you connect it?You can enable Health Connect in one of the following ways:
Method 1: From the DashboardGo to the Dashboard of the app.
In the steps board, tap the “Connect with Health Connect” button.
Allow balantia to access your data.
Way 2: From Settingseither from Settings at the bottom right of the screen, by tapping the Auto-tracking icon to enable it
Select Health Connect.
Confirm the access permissions.
Permissions neededFor the sync to work properly:
Permission in balantia: Make sure that balantia has permission to read steps from Health Connect.
Permission in the other apps: Check that the apps you expect data from (e.g. Google Fit, Samsung Health, Fitbit, Garmin) have permission to write steps to Health Connect.
Make sure that the connected app is actually recording steps for that specific day.
If there’s no data there, syncing can’t happen.
No steps are displayed. What should I check?
