Why aren't my steps syncing?

Check the following depending on the device you are using.

If your steps aren't showing up in balantia, check that you've connected Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS) and granted the necessary permissions.

balantia doesn't count your steps directly. Instead, it syncs step data already recorded by your devices and other apps.

If you're using Android (Health Connect)

1. Check your connection

On the “More” screen, select “Health Connect” and make sure the status shows “CONNECTED”.

If it's not connected, select “Connect Health Connect” and follow the instructions.

2. Check your permissions

For syncing to work properly:

  • balantia needs permission to read your step data from Health Connect.

  • Your other apps, such as Google Fit or Samsung Health, need permission to write their data to Health Connect.

Also, make sure your steps are available in Health Connect for the day you're checking.

If you're using iPhone (Apple Health)

1. Check your connection

On the “More” screen, select “Apple Health” and make sure the status shows “CONNECTED”.

If it's not connected, select “Connect Apple Health” and follow the instructions.

2. Check your permissions

Open your iPhone's Settings, go to Health, select Data Access & Devices, then choose balantia.

Make sure you've allowed balantia to read your step data.

Also, check that your iPhone or Apple Watch is recording your steps correctly in the Health app.

How to sync your steps again

Once you've checked your connection and permissions, open balantia and pull down on the “Log” or “Overview”screen to trigger a new sync.

If your steps still don't appear, close and reopen the app.

Important: If your steps haven't been recorded in Health Connect or Apple Health, they can't be synced to balantia.
