The balantia app can be connected with Apple Health so that it can automatically receive step data and activity (exercise) from the iPhone or Apple Watch.
Important info about Apple Health
The Apple Health app comes pre-installed on all iOS devices.
The balantia app doesn’t count steps itself; it simply reads the step data that has already been recorded in Apple Health by the iPhone or Apple Watch.
Physical activity / exercise is synced automatically from Apple Health and can’t be customized by the user inside balantia. ****balantia also pulls in data like the calories burned from exercise as ****well as the distance.
How do I connect it?
You can enable the connection with Apple Health in one of the following ways:
Method 1: From the Dashboard
Go to the Dashboard of the app.
In the steps board, tap the “Connect with Apple Health” button.
Allow balantia to access your data.
Way 2: From Settings
either from Settings at the bottom right of the screen, by tapping the Automatic tracking icon to enable it
Select Apple Health (Health).
Confirm the access permissions.
Permissions needed
For sync to work properly:
Permission in balantia: Make sure that balantia has permission to read steps from Apple Health.
Permission in Apple Health: Check that the device or apps where the data comes from (e.g. iPhone, Apple Watch) have permission to write steps to Apple Health.
Make sure that the connected device or app (e.g. iPhone or Apple Watch) is normally recording steps in Apple Health for that specific day.
If there’s no data there, syncing can’t happen.
