How do meals work in balantia?

Meals of the day

In balantia, meals are the sections where you organize what you eat throughout the day: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. Each food or drink you log is added to the corresponding meal.

How are calories distributed across meals?

Your daily calorie target is divided across your meals: 30% for breakfast, 40% for lunch, 25% for dinner, and 5% for snacks.

Next to each meal, you can see how many calories you've consumed compared to its target, along with a circular progress indicator.

This helps you track not only your total daily calorie intake but also how it's distributed throughout the day.

What can you do with each meal?

On the “Log” screen, you can:

  • Add foods by tapping the + button next to a meal.

  • View its nutritional breakdown by tapping the meal name. In “Meal Analysis”, you can see the calories, macronutrient distribution, and amounts of other nutrients, with the option to view the full nutritional breakdown.

  • Copy an entire meal to another day or save it to “My Meals” using the corresponding options in “Meal Analysis”.

  • Move foods from one meal to another.

  • Edit or delete entries by changing serving sizes and times or removing foods you've logged.

Customize meals to fit your routine

Under “Customize Log Screen”, at the bottom of the “Log” screen, you can hide meals you don't use and rearrange the order in which they appear.

If you prefer to view your food entries by time rather than by meal, you can switch to “Timeline” view.

This gives you the flexibility to organize and track your nutrition in a way that works best for you.
