Weighing your food can be very useful for greater accuracy, especially when you're just starting out or working toward specific goals, such as weight loss or muscle gain. However, you don't need to weigh everything all the time.
Weighing food helps you track your calorie and nutrient intake more accurately, which is particularly useful at first, while you're still getting familiar with portion sizes. As you learn to recognize different portions, you can rely more on visual estimates.
balantia makes food logging easier without needing a food scale. For each food, you can choose grams or everyday serving sizes, such as portions, tablespoons, cups, slices, or pieces, with quantities we've already weighed for you.
You'll also find a three-dot menu (•••) in the top-right corner of each food screen. Select “Serving Sizes” to view a visual guide with examples of different portions. This makes it easy to log what you eat without having to weigh every food.
You can also weigh new foods occasionally as you introduce them into your diet or make changes to your nutrition plan. Using a food scale when needed, rather than all the time, offers a good balance between accuracy and convenience in everyday life.
